One element sets the room: a dark stained timber screen that runs the full length of the wall, backlit along its top edge and filled with dried grasses, so the seating sits inside a warm shadow rather than against a flat wall. The banquette follows it end to end; bentwood chairs face it across the tables, and the timber returns overhead as a slatted ceiling.
Everything else is kept light against that band. The floor is a patterned tile carpet laid inside a light oak border, table tops are pale, and the glazed side of the room is left open to daylight. Two materials, one dark and one light, carry the whole interior.
